Beginners

Yoga can seem intimidating and finding the right class can be confusing. In this Beginners class we will start from the ground up, keeping an eye on your alignment every step of the way.

You will discover how your breath can ease not only your mind, but help you deepen into your practice as well. Together we will find out how the poses can work for you personally. We will work on Pranayama (breath control) , Asana (poses), meditation and some background into the history of yoga and what it’s all about.

New to yoga?

 

Foundations

A gentle way to learn more about yoga. In a safe and relaxing atmosphere, students will learn the benefits of yoga, basic yoga asana or postures, proper yogic breathing and relaxation techniques. This is an excellent introduction for new students but is also great for the experienced student looking to fine tune their practice.

 

Yoga Flow

This class is dynamic, and explorative. Incorporating creative sequencing, anatomical focus areas and traditional teachings,Yoga Flow tunes into your body’s need to move. Using the physical body as a tool of transformation.We take you deep into the physical experience, helping you to escape stressand arrive at a quieter place a little closer to home. Suitable for all experience levels.

Power Yoga

Harness the power of the body, breath and mind.  Power Yoga utilises a dynamic combination of strength, balance and flow to build body and core strength. The line-up of postures is diverse and is accessible to all ability levels.  “Power Yoga is directed at creating the highest level of energy, vitality and freedom. Yin Yoga

Find serenity. This slow-paced practice aims to quieten both the mind and body and work towards a place of surrender.  By holding passive postures or asanas for longer periods of time, Yin Yoga allows the muscles to relax around the connective tissue or fascia to help improve flexibility while creating space for the mind to clear unconscious emotions and reduce stress and anxiety.  This class is not suitable during pregnancy.

 

mums + Little Salties

Create some quality time with Mums + Little Salties. Do a yoga practice, have a playdate and enjoy some social interaction; all at the same place at the same time.  The relaxed atmosphere of this class allows children to either participate in the practice or play within the studio, while Mum or Dad stretch, strengthen and breathe. Give yourself and your child the gift of yoga.

 

Meditiation techniques

Time for quiet thought.  This free class is open to everyone and we always welcome new faces.  Meditation is a technique for resting the mind and attaining a state of consciousness that is different from our normal waking state.  Each week, we will explore different meditating techniques including Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep), Light Qi Gong, guided meditations and pranayama (breathing exercises).

A free class to start the weekend. Get inspired, get healthy and connect with coffee and breakfast afterwards.
 This class is a community class held at Lightbox Gladstone. Suitable for all levels of experience. Can you think of a better start to the weekend?
